Descripción
[edit]Mapa elaborado de acuerdo a criterios geográficos y climáticos. En él, la Costa está representada por las áreas cálidas y semicálidas del flanco occidental de la cordilera de los Andes; análogamente, la Selva está representada por las áreas cálidas y semicálidas del flanco oriental de los Andes, quedando la Sierra constituída por las áreas de montaña de clima templado a frío. Climatológicamente, se ha desarrollado en este mapa una correspondencia con la clasificación climática de Köppen-Geiger, tal como lo muestra el mapa File:Koppen-Geiger Map PER present.svg, el cual está actualizado y mide el clima desde 1980 a 2016.[1]
De acuerdo con estos parámetros, el límite entre las zonas áridas de Costa y Sierra está en 18°C de temperatura media anual,[2] mientras que el límite entre las zonas húmedas de Sierra y Selva está en que si todos los meses del año promedian más de 18°C, se considera que el clima es tropical. En consecuencia, las 3 regiones geográficas aquí representadas presentan los siguientes climas:
- COSTA: Clima árido del desierto costero (BWh) y semiárido del bosque seco de la costa norte (BSh, Aw).
- SIERRA: Clima templado de montaña, el cual puede ser a su vez arbolado y lluvioso todo el año (Cfb), subhúmedo y estacional con lluvias durante el verano austral principalmente (Cwb), semiárido xerófilo (BSk) y árido (BWk). La Sierra también incluye el clima frío alpino del herbazal de alta montaña presente en el altiplano (ET) y el clima gélido de las cumbres nevadas (EF).
- SELVA: Clima tropical cálido y húmedo que corresponde a la selva ecuatorial siempre lluviosa (Af), selva monzónica estacional (Am) y al bosque seco de los valles interandinos como el bosque seco del Marañón (Aw, BSh).
